...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM THIS EVENING TO 7 PM EST FRIDAY... * WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow and strong winds expected. Total snow accumulations between 8 and 12 inches. Localized totals between 12 and 18 inches possible for western Crawford and far southwest Otsego county. Lesser amounts between 2 and 5 inches expected across western Charlevoix county. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph. * WHERE...Charlevoix, Crawford, Missaukee, Otsego, and Roscommon Counties. * WHEN...From 7 PM this evening to 7 PM EST Friday. * IMPACTS...Heavy snow and strong winds will lead to significant drops in visibility. Whiteout conditions are expected at times this evening into Thursday morning. Heavy lake effect snow bands with snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour may lead to near zero visibility at times and are expected to impact stretches of I 75, especially south of Exit 270 in Waters.
