...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 645 PM EDT TUESDAY... * WHAT...Existing water from heavy rainfall last week is routing through the streams, rivers and lakes. Water is gradually receding, but is still flooding low lying areas, creeks, streams, and rivers. * WHERE...A portion of northern Michigan, including the following counties, Crawford, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, Missaukee and Wexford. * WHEN...Until 645 PM EDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is occurring. Several structures are flooded and some sand bagging operations are continuing. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1142 AM EDT, Flooding is already occurring in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Kalkaska, Sharon, Kingsley, Manton, Fife Lake, South Boardman, Morey, Spider Lake, Sigma, Darragh, Hannah and Smithville. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
