For the Heavy Freezing Spray Warning, heavy freezing spray at a rate of 2 cm per hour or greater occurring, and may rapidly accumulate on vessels. * WHERE...Portions of Central and Western Lake Superior. * WHEN...For the Storm Warning, until 2 AM EDT Tuesday. For the Heavy Freezing Spray Warning, until 2 PM EDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Operating a vessel in heavy freezing spray is hazardous. Freezing spray may render mechanical and electronic components inoperative. Rapid ice accretion on decks and superstructures may result in a catastrophic loss of stability. Storm force winds and hazardous waves will capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners should prepare for dangerous accumulation of ice on their vessel. If possible, remain in port, avoid the warning area or conduct mitigation. Winds gusting as high as 60 mph. * WHERE...Keweenaw and Northern Houghton Counties. * WHEN...Until 2 AM EDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Travel will be treacherous and potentially life-threatening. Widespread blowing snow and heavy snowfall rates will significantly reduce visibility. Very strong winds could cause extensive tree damage and result in power outages. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Strongest winds are expected tonight into Monday. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Travel should be restricted to emergencies only. If you must travel, have a winter survival kit with you. If you get stranded, stay with your vehicle. Persons should consider delaying all travel. Some shoreline erosion will occur. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property. &&
