For the Small Craft Advisory, west winds 10 to 20 kt with gusts up to 25 kt and waves 5 to 8 ft occurring. * WHERE...Upper Entrance of Portage Canal to Eagle River MI and Eagle River to Manitou Island MI. * WHEN...For the Heavy Freezing Spray Warning, until 4 AM EST Wednesday. For the Small Craft Advisory, until 7 AM EST Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Operating a vessel in heavy freezing spray is hazardous. Freezing spray may render mechanical and electronic components inoperative. Rapid ice accretion on decks and superstructures may result in a catastrophic loss of stability. Conditions will be hazardous to small craft. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners should prepare for dangerous accumulation of ice on their vessel. ...EXTREME COLD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY EVENING THROUGH SATURDAY AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Dangerously cold wind chills as low as 35 below possible. * WHERE...Baraga, Dickinson, Iron, Marquette, Menominee, Gogebic, Keweenaw, Northern Houghton, Ontonagon, and Southern Houghton Counties. * WHEN...From Thursday evening through Saturday afternoon. * IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 35 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes. Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures. An extended period of freezing temperatures could cause ruptured water pipes. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must go outside. To prevent water pipes from freezing; wrap or drain or allow them to drip slowly. Drain in-ground sprinkler systems and cover above ground pipes. &&
