* WHAT...For the Small Craft Advisory, northwest winds 15 to 25 kt
with gusts up to 30 kt and waves 6 to 9 ft expected. For the
Heavy Freezing Spray Warning, heavy freezing spray at a rate of
2 cm per hour or greater expected, and may rapidly accumulate on
vessels.

* WHERE...Saxon Harbor WI to Black River MI and Black River to
Ontonagon MI.

* WHEN...For the Small Craft Advisory, from 1 PM EST /noon CST/
this afternoon to 7 AM EST /6 AM CST/ Sunday. For the Heavy
Freezing Spray Warning, from 7 PM EST /6 PM CST/ this evening
to 7 AM EST /6 AM CST/ Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Operating a vessel in heavy freezing spray is
hazardous. Freezing spray may render mechanical and electronic
components inoperative. Rapid ice accretion on decks and
superstructures may result in a catastrophic loss of
stability. Conditions will be hazardous to small craft.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners should prepare for dangerous accumulation of ice on
their vessel. If possible, remain in port, avoid the warning area
or conduct mitigation.

Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller
vessels, should avoid navigating in hazardous conditions.

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 7
AM EST SATURDAY...

* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 1 and 7
inches. Highest amounts expected north of Houghton along US-41 and
and between Houghton and Greenland along M-26. Winds gusting as
high as 40 mph.

* WHERE...Keweenaw, Northern Houghton, and Ontonagon Counties.

* WHEN...From 1 PM this afternoon to 7 AM EST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Patchy blowing snow
could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions
could impact the Friday evening commute.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The combination of snow and strong winds will
result in blowing snow.
