...Freezing rain tapers off this afternoon...

Freezing rain has largely moved out of the area, although lighter
intensity freezing drizzle may persist for the next couple of
hours. Little to no additional ice accumulations are expected.
Continue to exercise caution when driving or walking, particularly
on untreated surfaces, as temperatures are expected to hold near
freezing through the evening.

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM EST THIS
AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Freezing rain expected. Total ice accumulations will range
between a light glaze to just below a quarter inch.

* WHERE...A portion of southeast Michigan.

* WHEN...Until 4 PM EST this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Plan on icy roads and surface conditions. The hazardous
conditions will impact travel into the afternoon.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Widespread freezing rain will persist into
the early afternoon, before gradually tapering off.  In addition
to freezing rain, some mixing of sleet remains possible across the
northern Tri-Cities and northern Thumb, with sleet accumulation
potential to a half-inch or less.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Be prepared for hazardous travel. Slow down and use caution while
driving. If you are going outside, watch your first few steps taken
on stairs, sidewalks, and driveways. These surfaces could be icy and
slippery, increasing your risk of a fall and injury. Isolated to
scattered power outages will be possible.

EVENING...

* WHAT...Expect sustained winds up to 22 knots from the east
with gusts up to 28 knots. The largest significant waves will
be 6 feet with a potential maximum wave height of 8 feet.

* WHERE...Outer Saginaw Bay SW of Alabaster to Port Austin MI to
Inner Saginaw Bay and Port Austin to Harbor Beach MI.

* WHEN...The maximum winds are expected around 9 AM EST Friday
with the largest waves expected around 10 AM EST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Conditions will be hazardous to small craft.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller
vessels, should avoid navigating in hazardous conditions.
