...A SPECIAL MARINE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1000 AM EDT... For the following areas... Chesapeake Bay from Pooles Island to Sandy Point MD... Patapsco River including Baltimore Harbor... At 925 AM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing waterspouts was located 9 nm northwest of Gunpowder River, moving north at 50 knots. HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater. SOURCE...Observed wind. IMPACT...Boaters in small craft could be thrown overboard by suddenly higher winds and waves capsizing their vessel. Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Locations impacted include... Fort Smallwood State Park, Pinehurst, North Point State Park, Hart Miller Island, Gunpowder River, Sandy Point State Park, Gibson Island, Baltimore Light, Bodkin Point, Pooles Island, and Sevenfoot Knoll. ...COASTAL FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 AM EDT FRIDAY... * WHAT...One to two feet of inundation above ground level in low lying areas due to tidal flooding. * WHERE...Shoreline in Anne Arundel County. * WHEN...Until 8 AM EDT Friday, especially around the time of high tide. * IMPACTS...At 4.2 feet, the boardalk at Annapolis City Dock is underwater. Floodwaters also are affecting numerous roads in Annapolis and on the Naval Academy Campus, along with structures throughout the neighboring area. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Tides up to 3 feet above normal. The next high tide at Annapolis U.S. Naval Academy is at 12:06 PM and 1:01 AM. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property.
