Southeastern Calvert County in southern Maryland... * Until 700 PM EDT. * At 556 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Prince Frederick to 6 miles southwest of Sheridan Point to near Wicomico River, moving east at 35 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Damaging winds will cause some trees and large branches to fall. This could injure those outdoors, as well as damage homes and vehicles. Roadways may become blocked by downed trees. Localized power outages are possible. Unsecured light objects may become projectiles. * Locations impacted include... At 549 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 8 nm northeast of Miles River to Coles Point, moving southeast at 40 knots. HAZARD...Wind gusts in excess of 48 knots. SOURCE...Observed wind. IMPACT...Boaters could easily be thrown overboard by suddenly higher wind and waves capsizing their vessel. Boats could suffer significant damage in high winds.
