For the Freezing Spray Advisory, moderate accumulation of freezing spray. * WHERE...Coastal waters from Fenwick Island DE to Chincoteague VA out 20 nm, Coastal waters from Chincoteague to Parramore Island VA out 20 nm, Coastal waters from Parramore Island to Cape Charles Light VA out 20 nm and Coastal Waters from Cape Charles Light to Virginia-North Carolina border out to 20 nm. * WHEN...For the Gale Warning, until 4 AM EST early this morning. For the Freezing Spray Advisory, until 10 AM EST this morning. * IMPACTS...Operating a vessel in freezing spray is hazardous. Freezing spray may render mechanical and electronic components inoperative. Ice accretion on decks and superstructures may result in some loss of stability. Strong winds will cause hazardous seas which could capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners should prepare for ice accumulation on their vessel and consider altering plans to avoid or mitigate these hazardous conditions. ...COLD WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM EST TUESDAY... * WHAT...Very cold wind chills of 5 below to 5 above expected. * WHERE...Portions of southeast Maryland and central, east central, eastern, north central, south central, and southeast Virginia. * WHEN...Until 10 AM EST Tuesday. * IMPACTS...The cold wind chills as low as 5 below zero could result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...In addition to the cold, black ice will likely develop on area roadways tonight into Tuesday morning.
