Northwestern Worcester County in southeastern Maryland... * Until midnight EDT. * At 856 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 2 inches in 30 minutes. Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Waters from Fenwick Island DE to Chintoteague VA from 20 to 60 NM... * Until 1000 PM EDT. * At 835 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing wind gusts to 40 knots and waterspouts were located along a line extending from 8 nm northwest of Delaware Lightship Buoy 44009 to 11 nm northwest of Chincoteague Bay, moving southeast at 20 knots.
