THURSDAY EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...Portions of southeast Louisiana, including the following
parishes, Assumption, Central Plaquemines, Central Tangipahoa,
Coastal Jefferson Parish, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana,
Eastern Ascension, Eastern Orleans, Iberville, Lower Jefferson,
Lower Lafourche, Lower Plaquemines, Lower St. Bernard, Lower
Tangipahoa, Lower Terrebonne, Northern Livingston, Northern St.
Tammany, Northern Tangipahoa, Pointe Coupee, Southeast St.
Tammany, Southern Livingston, Southwestern St. Tammany, St.
Charles, St. Helena, St. James, St. John The Baptist, Upper
Jefferson, Upper Lafourche, Upper Plaquemines, Upper St. Bernard,
Upper Terrebonne, Washington, West Baton Rouge, West Feliciana,
Western Ascension and Western Orleans and southern Mississippi,
including the following areas, Amite, Northern Hancock, Northern
Harrison, Northern Jackson, Pearl River, Pike, Southern Hancock,

* WHEN...From Tuesday evening through Thursday evening.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur
in poor drainage and urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Heavy rain will move into the area beginning late Tuesday.
Four to six inches of rain is forecast across the area during
this timeframe, locally higher amounts are possible.

* WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is
forecast.

* WHERE...Mississippi River at Red River Landing.

* WHEN...Until Wednesday, May 21.

* IMPACTS...At 58.0 feet, Angola farmland on the left bank becomes
inundated.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 9:00 AM CDT Monday the stage was 58.5 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 46.0 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
Wednesday, May 21 and continue falling to 35.2 feet Monday,
June 02.
- Flood stage is 48.0 feet.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL WEDNESDAY, MAY 14...

* WHAT...Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Mississippi River at Baton Rouge.

* WHEN...Until Wednesday, May 14.

* IMPACTS...At 43.0 feet, Shipping and industrial activities are
significantly affected. Unprotected low-lying areas will be
flooded and agricultural operations will be impacted on the west
side of the river. The city of Baton Rouge is protected by levees
at this level.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 9:00 AM CDT Monday the stage was 41.5 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 29.0 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 41.6
feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage
Wednesday, May 14.
- Flood stage is 35.0 feet.
