...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM CDT MONDAY...

* WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall will continue.

* WHERE...A portion of central Louisiana, including the following
parishes, Avoyelles, Evangeline, Rapides and St. Landry.

* WHEN...Until 600 PM CDT Monday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads
remain closed due to flooding. Streams continue to rise due to
excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Expect many areas of slow
moving or standing water. It will take several hours for all the
water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in
urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 350 PM CDT, gauge reports indicated high water due to
runoff and standing water from previous excessive rainfall.
Flooding is already occurring in the warned area.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Opelousas, Marksville, Bunkie, Simmesport, Melville,
Moreauville, Cheneyville, Palmetto, Morrow, Bordelonville,
Bayou Current, Effie, Port Barre, Cottonport, Mansura,
Washington, Hessmer, Evergreen, Plaucheville and Goudeau.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Keep children away from storm drains, culverts, creeks and streams.
Water levels can rise rapidly and sweep children away.

Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.
