...FREEZE WATCH FOR A HARD FREEZE IN EFFECT FROM SUNDAY EVENING
THROUGH MONDAY MORNING...

* WHAT...For the Cold Weather Advisory, very cold wind chills as low
as 15 expected. For the Freeze Watch, hard freeze with
temperatures as low as 20 to 25 degrees possible for several hours.

* WHERE...In Louisiana, Avoyelles, Evangeline, Rapides, St. Landry,
Allen, Beauregard, and Vernon Parishes. In Texas, Northern Jasper
and Northern Newton Counties.

* WHEN...For the Cold Weather Advisory, from 6 PM Sunday to 10 AM
CST Monday. For the Freeze Watch, from Sunday evening through
Monday morning.

* IMPACTS...Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin
is exposed to these temperatures. Frost and freeze conditions
could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage
unprotected outdoor plumbing.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a
hat, and gloves.

Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure
portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills
inside.

Keep pets indoors as much as possible.

Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.

To prevent water pipes from freezing; wrap or drain or allow them to
drip slowly.
