Strong and gusty southwest winds become more westerly during this evening. With this, wind gusts of 25 to 35 mph are expected with locally higher gusts possible. This is enough to blow around lawn displays, garbage cans, and make for difficult driving of higher profile vehicles.

Total snow accumulations of up to 2 inches are forecast, except localized 2 to 4 inch accumulations at elevations above 2,000 feet on and adjacent to Big Black Mountain. * WHERE...Harlan and Letcher Counties. * WHEN...Until 10 AM EST Thursday. * IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact this evenings commute at higher elevations and the Thursday morning commute in all portions of the advisory area. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...High elevation snow showers and low elevation rain showers will develop this afternoon.
