...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 130 PM CST THIS AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of South Central Kansas, including the following counties, Butler, Harvey and Sedgwick. * WHEN...Until 130 PM CST. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1018 AM CST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. Flooding is already occurring in the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Wichita, Park City, Valley Center, Maize, Cheney, Sedgwick, Colwich, Garden Plain, Whitewater, Kechi, Andale, Potwin and Cheney Lake. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely. &&
