...FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 230 AM CDT EARLY THIS
MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by heavy rainfall continues.

* WHERE...Portions of northeast Illinois, including the following
counties, Kankakee and Will and northwest Indiana, including the
following counties, Lake IN, Newton and Porter.

* WHEN...Until 230 AM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding
may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Roads and streets may
be flooded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1243 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
indicated heavy rain falling across portions of the Advisory
area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen, and up to
an additional inch of rain may fall.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Hammond, Gary, Portage, Merrillville, Valparaiso, East
Chicago, Schererville, Hobart, Crown Point, Highland,
Munster, Chesterton, Cedar Lake, Lowell, Momence, Griffith,
Dyer, St. John, Lake Station and Lakes of the Four Seasons.

A Flood Advisory means minor flooding along waterways and other poor
drainage areas is imminent or may already be occurring. Persons in
the advisory area should use caution and avoid flood waters.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
