Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1245 PM EDT, emergency management reported heavy rain in the warned area due to thunderstorms. Flooding is already occurring. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Many local roads flood and are impassable to most vehicles. A few evacuations are necessary in southern parts of Carthage, extreme southern sections of Knightstown, eastern Raysville and a few rural areas of northwest Rush County. Used auto parts yard in Carthage is flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 4:30 AM EDT Friday the stage was 10.5 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 4:30 AM EDT Friday was 12.3 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 10.7 feet this morning.
