DuPage County in northeastern Illinois... Southeastern Kane County in northeastern Illinois... Kendall County in northeastern Illinois... Northwestern Will County in northeastern Illinois... * WHEN...Until 100 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. High water may recede slowly from flooded areas. Area creeks and streams are already elevated, increasing the risk of flooding due to additional rainfall. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1058 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain from earlier this morning. Flooding is ongoing in the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. - Scattered heavy rain showers late this morning may result in additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Chicago, Aurora, Joliet, Naperville, Cicero, Evanston, Bolingbrook, Skokie, Berwyn, Wheaton, Oak Park, Downers Grove, Elmhurst, Lombard, Romeoville, Plainfield, Park Ridge and Addison. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... In central Illinois, Livingston. * WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Area creeks and streams are already elevated, increasing the risk of flooding due to additional rainfall. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A slow moving weather system may bring additional periods of heavy showers and embedded thunderstorms which may lead to localized flooding.
