...FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 AM CDT MONDAY... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Portions of northeast Illinois, including the following counties, Cook, DuPage and Will and northwest Indiana, including the following county, Lake IN. * WHEN...Until 200 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Underpasses may be flooded. Roads and streets may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 857 PM CDT, Local law enforcement reported flooded roads and viaducts in Chicago. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Area creeks and streams are also near or at bankfull. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are expected over the area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Chicago, Naperville, Cicero, Hammond, Gary, Evanston, Bolingbrook, Skokie, Des Plaines, Orland Park, Tinley Park, Oak Lawn, Berwyn, Wheaton, Oak Park, Downers Grove, Glenview, Elmhurst, Lombard and Ohare Airport. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Flood Advisory means minor flooding along waterways and other poor drainage areas is imminent or may already be occurring. Persons in the advisory area should use caution and avoid flood waters.
