Central DuPage County in northeastern Illinois... * WHEN...Until 430 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Underpasses may be flooded. Roads and streets may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 213 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Up to 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Underpasses may be flooded. Roads and streets may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 209 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Radar and observations indicate these storms are producing a quick 1 to 2 inches of rain in less than 45 minutes. This will likely result in minor flooding shortly after thunderstorms arrive. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are expected over the area.
