* IMPACTS...Strong winds will cause hazardous waves which could
capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.

Mariners should alter plans to avoid these hazardous conditions.
Remain in port, seek safe harbor, alter course, and/or secure the
vessel for hazardous conditions.

...REPLACES FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS AND FLOOD ADVISORIES PREVIOUSLY IN
EFFECT...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of northeast Illinois, including the following
counties, Cook, DuPage and Will.

* WHEN...Until 830 AM CST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks and
remain elevated. Road and street flooding may continue. Flooding
may continue in poor drainage and urban areas.  High water will
recede slowly.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1025 PM CST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
indicated that heavy rainfall had moved out of the area, but
up to 3 inches of rain occurred during the afternoon and
evening hours. Multiple stream gauges indicate rapid rises
and standing water remains on multiple roadways. Roadway
flooding will likely improve over the next few hours, with
stream levels decreasing during the overnight hours.
- Flooding impacts will continue, but little to no additional
rainfall is expected.

Chicago, Joliet, Naperville, Cicero, Evanston, Bolingbrook,
Skokie, Des Plaines, Orland Park, Tinley Park, Oak Lawn,
Berwyn, Wheaton, Oak Park, Downers Grove, Glenview, Elmhurst,
Lombard, Ohare Airport and Carol Stream.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flood Advisory means minor flooding along waterways and other poor
drainage areas is imminent or may already be occurring. Persons in
the advisory area should use caution and avoid flood waters.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
