...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT THIS EVENING FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR SOUTHWEST ILLINOIS AND PORTIONS OF SOUTHEAST MISSOURI... The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a Red Flag Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect until 7 PM CDT this evening. * Affected Area...In Illinois, Fire Weather Zones 075, 076, 080, 081, 082, 084, 085, 086, 088, 089 and 092. In Missouri, Fire Weather Zones 076, 086, 087, 100, 109, 110 and 111. * Winds...South 13 to 18 mph with gusts up to 27 mph. * Relative Humidity...As low as 20 percent. * 10 Hour Fuels...as low as 6 to 8 percent amidst ongoing drought conditions. * Impacts...any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now....or will shortly. A combination of strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior. &&
