At 1130 AM CDT, the leading edge of an abrupt increase to very strong southeasterly winds were located along a line extending from 19 nm northeast of Montrose Harbor to near Wilmette Harbor to 7 nm northeast of Aurora, moving east southeast at 40 knots. At 1130 AM CDT, O'Hare International Airport gusted to 44 knots. HAZARD...Wind gusts to nearly 50 knots. SOURCE...Radar indicated. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Showers and thunderstorms will continue today.
