ISSUED an AVALANCHE WARNING which is in effect until 7 AM MST
Tuesday...

* WHAT...Avalanche warning. The avalanche danger is HIGH. Heavy
snowfall and wind are producing widespread avalanching.

* WHERE...The southern Salmon River, Sawtooth, White Cloud, Smoky,
Soldier, Boulder and Pioneer Mountains, including the mountains
near Banner Summit, Stanley, Smiley Creek, Atlanta, Galena
Summit, Trail Creek Summit, and Dollarhide Summit.

* WHEN...7 AM MST Monday to 7 AM MST Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Natural and human triggered avalanches large enough to
bury people, snap trees, or destroy structures are very likely.
Avalanches may strike roadways, trails, and buildings in the
valley bottom.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Very dangerous avalanche conditions exist. Travel in avalanche
terrain is not recommended. Stay off and out from below steep
slopes, slopes steeper than about 30 degrees. Avalanches may be
triggered remotely, from flat terrain above, below, and to the
sides of steep slopes.

* WHERE...Big Lost Highlands/Copper Basin, Frank Church Wilderness,
Sawtooth/Stanley Basin, and Sun Valley Region.

* WHEN...Until 11 AM MST this morning.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous
conditions could impact the morning commute.
