* IMPACTS...Conditions will be hazardous to small craft.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller
vessels, should avoid navigating in these conditions.

...HIGH SURF WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM HST THURSDAY...

* WHAT...For north facing shores, surf of 20 to 30 feet this
evening, lowering to 20 to 25 feet by early Thursday morning.
For west facing shores of Niihau, Kauai, Oahu, and Molokai, surf
of 15 to 20 feet. For west facing shores of the Big Island,
surf of 8 to 12 feet.

* WHERE...North and west facing shores of Niihau, Kauai, Oahu,
Molokai, north facing shores of Maui, and west facing shores of
the Big Island.

* WHEN...Until 6 AM HST Thursday.

* IMPACTS...High. Expect very strong breaking waves and powerful
currents. Waves breaking in channel entrances may make
navigating the channels dangerous.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Stay away from the shoreline along the affected coasts. Be
prepared for road closures. Postpone entering or leaving channels
affected by the high surf until the surf subsides.
