...COASTAL FLOOD STATEMENT REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH MONDAY
AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...For north facing shores of Maui, surf heights of 10 to 15
feet, building to 15 to 20 feet this afternoon. For west facing
shores of the Big Island, surf heights of 6 to 8 feet. Additionally,
a combination of surf and high water levels will produce
nuisance coastal flooding.

* WHERE...North facing shores of Maui and west facing shores of
the Big Island.

* WHEN...For the High Surf Advisory, until 6 PM HST Saturday.
For the Coastal Flood Statement, through Monday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Moderate. Strong breaking waves and strong currents
will make swimming dangerous. Flooding of beaches that are
normally dry, minor coastal erosion, and saltwater inundation.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Avoid driving through flooded roadways. If you are forced to
drive through salt water, be sure to rinse your vehicle with
fresh water. Move electronics, vehicles or other valuables to
higher ground. Monitor vessels to ensure mooring lines don't get
too tight and watch out for overwash around boat ramps. Secure
canoes or other watercraft stowed on beaches.

Heed all advice from ocean safety officials. When in doubt, don't
go out.
