* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...The island of Kauai in Kauai County, The island of Niihau in Kauai County, Oahu, Maui, Molokai, Lanai, Kahoolawe, and the Big Island. * WHEN...Through this afternoon. * IMPACTS...Significant flooding may occur due to excessive rainfall and overflow of streams and drainages. Roads in several areas may be closed, along with property damage in urban or low lying spots due to runoff. Landslides may also occur in areas with steep terrain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Low pressure northwest of the islands will draw deep tropical moisture northward across the state, bringing the potential for heavy rain and thunderstorms capable of producing flash flooding. ...GALE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM HST FRIDAY... * WHAT...South winds 25 to 35 kt and seas 10 to 15 feet. * WHERE...Kauai Northwest Waters, Kauai Windward Waters, Kauai Leeward Waters, Kauai Channel, Oahu Windward Waters and Oahu Leeward Waters. * WHEN...Until 6 AM HST Friday. * IMPACTS...Strong winds will cause hazardous seas which could capsize or damage vessels. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Gale Warning means winds of 34 to 47 knots are imminent or occurring. Operating a vessel in gale conditions requires experience and properly equipped vessels. It is highly recommended that mariners without the proper experience seek safe harbor prior to the onset of gale conditions. &&
