* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...The island of Kauai in Kauai County, The island of Niihau in Kauai County, Oahu, Maui, Molokai, Lanai, Kahoolawe, and the Big Island. * WHEN...Through this afternoon. * IMPACTS...Significant flooding may occur due to excessive rainfall and overflow of streams and drainages. Roads in several areas may be closed, along with property damage in urban or low lying spots due to runoff. Landslides may also occur in areas with steep terrain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Low pressure northwest of the islands will draw deep tropical moisture northward across the state, bringing the potential for heavy rain and thunderstorms capable of producing flash flooding. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued. &&

...WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM HST THIS EVENING... ...HIGH WIND WARNING IS CANCELLED... * WHAT...South winds 20 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph. * WHERE...Central Oahu, Koolau Leeward, Koolau Windward, Oahu North Shore, Olomana, and Waianae Mountains. * WHEN...Until 6 PM HST this evening. * IMPACTS...Winds this strong can tear off shingles, knock down tree branches, blow away tents and awnings and make it difficult to steer, especially for drivers of high profile vehicles. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Watch out for falling tree branches when walking or driving. Make sure tents and awnings are secure or take them down. Be prepared for power outages. &&
