* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...All the main Hawaiian islands. * WHEN...From Saturday afternoon through Monday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Flood prone roads and other low lying areas may be closed due to elevated runoff and overflowing streams. Urban areas may receive more significant flooding and property damage due to rapid runoff. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A front will move southeast into Kauai late this afternoon or evening, then through Oahu late tonight. The front will stall over Maui County Saturday through this weekend, allowing deep tropical moisture to pool over the island chain. This in combination with a disturbance aloft moving over the state, will bring the potential for heavy rainfall, a few thunderstorms and flash flooding beginning Saturday afternoon and continuing through Monday afternoon. The greatest risk for flash flooding is expected in windward areas. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued. &&

...HIGH SURF WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM HST SATURDAY... * WHAT...Along north facing shores of Maui, surf building to 18 to 25 feet tonight and continuing into Saturday morning. * WHERE...North facing shores of Maui. * WHEN...Until 6 PM HST Saturday. * IMPACTS...High. Expect very strong breaking waves and powerful currents. Waves breaking in channel entrances may make navigating the channels dangerous. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Stay away from the shoreline along the affected coasts. Be prepared for road closures. Postpone entering or leaving channels affected by the high surf until the surf subsides. &&
