...WATERSPOUTS POSSIBLE THIS MORNING... The areas affected include... Waters from South Santee River SC to Savannah GA out 60 NM... Waters from Savannah GA to Altamaha Sound GA out 60 NM... Charleston Harbor... Conditions will be favorable for the development of waterspouts across the nearshore and offshore waters of Southeast South Carolina and Southeast Georgia, including the Charleston Harbor, this morning. The waterspout risk will be highest near lines of towering clouds and in the vicinity of showers and thunderstorms. Conditions will become less favorable for waterspout development by late morning as the sea breeze begins to form along the beaches. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If waterspouts occur, move your boat away from the waterspout. Remember that waterspouts can develop rapidly and produce winds and seas that are dangerous for vessels and everyone onboard. Report waterspouts via social media or call the National Weather Service directly at 1-888-383-2024. &&
