EVENING FOR SOUTHEASTERN DEKALB, NORTHERN NEWTON, ROCKDALE AND
SOUTHWESTERN WALTON COUNTIES...

At 629 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between
2.5 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up
to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is
ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Conyers, Covington, Social Circle, Oxford, Lithonia, Walnut Grove,
Jersey, Georgia International Horse Park, Lakeview Estates, Almon,
Milstead, Gum Creek, Arabia Mountain, Redan, Belmont and
Herndonville.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

EVENING FOR CLAYTON, SOUTHWESTERN DEKALB AND SOUTH CENTRAL FULTON
COUNTIES...

At 559 PM EDT, Emergency management reported thunderstorms producing
flash flooding in portions of north Clayton and south Fulton
counties, including at the interchange of I-85 and I-285 and near
Forest Park. Between 2.5 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. Additional
rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area.
Flash flooding is already occurring.
