...FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 645 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...A portion of southeast Georgia, including the following
counties, Bryan, Liberty and McIntosh.

* WHEN...Until 645 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 505 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated widespread showers and
thunderstorm with torrential rainfall extending across
eastern Liberty County. As much as 2 to 4 inches of rain has
fallen this afternoon. An additional 1 to 2 inches of rain
could fall through 645 PM. The risk for minor flooding of
low-lying and poor drainage areas continues.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Halfmoon Landing, Harris Neck, St. Catherines Island, Sunbury
and Seabrook.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Waters from Savannah GA to Altamaha Sound GA out 60 NM...

* Until 700 PM EDT.

* At 505 PM EDT, strong thunderstorms were located along a line from
7 NM southeast of Buoy J to 5 NM southeast of Sapelo Channelbuoy
3, moving east at 25 knots.

HAZARD...Wind gusts to nearly 50 knots.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds
and suddenly higher waves.

* Locations impacted include...
R2 Tower, Honey Barge, Grays Reef Buoy, Buoy J, Tug Elmira, Ferry
Boat Janet, Buoy Tender Sagebrush, Tug Rio Caroni, D R H Buoy,
John Bird, A L T Buoy and Doboy Sound Buoy D.

At 418 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line from 6
NM northwest of Ossabaw Sound to over Sapelo Channelbuoy 3, moving
east at 10 knots.

HAZARD...Large hail and wind gusts in excess of 50 knots.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Boats could suffer significant structural damage in high
winds and hail. Small craft could capsize in suddenly
higher waves.
