...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM APPROACHING THE WATERS... The areas affected include... Coastal waters from Fernandina Beach to St. Augustine FL out 20 NM... At 729 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. This thunderstorm was located over Mayport, or 33 nm north of Saint Augustine, moving northeast at 5 knots. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until this storm passes. Waterspouts are possible with this activity. If a waterspout occurs, move your boat away from it. Waterspouts can develop rapidly and produce winds and seas that are dangerous for vessels and everyone onboard. &&
