At 329 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Flagler Beach to 6 miles east of Lake Helen to near Geneva. Movement was east at 20 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Deltona, Daytona Beach, Port Orange, Ormond Beach, and New Smyrna Beach. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Conditions are favorable for the development of weak, brief funnel clouds. On rare occasions they can briefly touch down, producing wind gusts over 50 mph. If a funnel cloud is spotted move indoors and report your sighting to the National Weather Service. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Seek safe shelter inside a sturdy building or hard-topped vehicle. Flagler Beach to Volusia-Brevard County Line 0-20 nm... * Until 445 PM EDT. * At 322 PM EDT, a broken band of strong thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Ormond-By-the-Sea to near Maytown, moving northeast at 15 knots. These storms will increase in coverage and intensity as they collide with the east coast sea breeze along the Volusia coast. HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Waterspouts can can quickly form and capsize boats, damage vessels and create locally hazardous seas. Make sure all on board are wearing life jackets. Expect wind gusts in excess of 34 knots, suddenly higher waves, lightning and heavy downpours. Make sure all on board are wearing life jackets.
