THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE IS TRANSMITTED AT THE REQUEST OF THE
COLORADO AVALANCHE INFORMATION CENTER.

...SPECIAL AVALANCHE ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM SUNDAY...

*WHAT...A winter storm will dramatically change avalanche
conditions, making it easy for backcountry travelers to trigger
dangerous avalanches this weekend. Avalanche conditions this weekend
will be more dangerous over more of Colorado than previous weekends.

*WHERE...Portions of the Front Range, Summit County, the Gore
Range and Vail area, Elk Mountains, Grand Mesa, Monarch, most
of the San Juan Mountains, and the Sangre de Cristo Range.

*WHEN...Through Sunday evening

*IMPACTS...Backcountry travelers can easily trigger large
avalanches in the mentioned areas. Some avalanches may be triggered
remotely.

*PRECAUTION/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Consider these abnormal
conditions in your travel plans and choose a route that avoids
snow-covered avalanche terrain. You can find more detailed
information at colorado.gov/avalanche
