The National Weather Service in Denver has issued a Fire Weather Watch for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from Wednesday afternoon through Wednesday evening. * AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zones 240, 241, 242, 243, 244, 245, 246, 247, 248, 249, 250 and 251. * TIMING...For the Red Flag Warning, from noon today to 9 PM MDT this evening. For the Fire Weather Watch, from Wednesday afternoon through Wednesday evening. * WINDS...For today, southwest winds 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph. For Wednesday, west winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 10 percent for Tuesday and Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Conditions will be favorable for rapid fire spread in areas that did not receive significant rainfall on Monday. Avoid outdoor burning and any activity that may produce a spark and start a wildfire. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now....or will shortly. A combination of strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
