* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 6 and 12
inches with locally higher amounts possible.

* WHERE...Flat Tops, Northwest San Juan Mountains, Southwest San
Juan Mountains, Gore and Elk Mountains/Central Mountain Valleys,
and West Elk and Sawatch Mountains above 9500 feet.

* WHEN...Until 5 PM MST this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous
conditions could impact the Friday morning and evening commutes.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Slow down and use caution while traveling. The latest road
conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by
calling 5 1 1.

THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE IS TRANSMITTED AT THE REQUEST OF THE
COLORADO AVALANCHE INFORMATION CENTER.

...A SPECIAL AVALANCHE ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 430 PM THURSDAY UNTIL
5 PM SUNDAY...

*WHAT...Avalanche conditions are dangerous. You could trigger the
avalanches from a distance or the bottom of a steep slope.
*WHERE...  Elk and West Elk Mountains
*WHEN... The Special Avalanche Advisory goes from Thursday at 430 pm
till Sunday at 500pm.
*IMPACTS... Easily trigger dangerous avalanches large enough to
injure or kill you.
*PRECAUTION/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Travel in backcountry avalanche
terrain requires cautious route finding to stay safe. Avoid travel
on and under slopes with a slope angle steeper than about 30
