Red Flag Warning
Issued: 6:20 PM Aug. 4, 2026 – National Weather Service
...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON TO 7 PM MDT WEDNESDAY DUE TO
WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR SOUTH PARK AND ELEVATIONS ABOVE
9000 FEET...

The National Weather Service in Denver CO has issued a Red Flag
Warning in effect from noon to 7 PM MDT Wednesday.

* AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zones 212, 214, 217, and 218.

* TIMING...From noon to 7 PM MDT Wednesday.

* WINDS...West 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Between 7 to 17 percent.

* IMPACTS...Conditions will be favorable for rapid fire spread. Avoid
outdoor burning and any activity that may produce a spark and start
a wildfire.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Follow all fire restrictions. Avoid activities that can cause sparks
and do not park hot vehicles on dry vegetation. One less spark, one
less wildfire.

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are
either occurring now...or will shortly. A combination of strong
winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can contribute
to extreme fire behavior.
