...BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT NOW IN EFFECT THROUGH WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Large breaking waves of 3 to 6 feet. Dangerous rip currents. * WHERE...Ventura County Beaches, Malibu Coast and Los Angeles County Beaches. * WHEN...Through Wednesday afternoon. * IMPACTS...There is an increased risk of ocean drowning. Rip currents can pull swimmers and surfers out to sea. Waves can wash people off beaches and rocks, and capsize small boats nearshore. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Remain out of the water due to hazardous swimming conditions, or stay near occupied lifeguard towers. Rock jetties can be deadly in such conditions, stay off the rocks. &&

...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM PDT MONDAY... * WHAT...Very warm and humid daytime conditions with high temperatures between 82 and 92 common. Warm overnight conditions will bring less relief than usual. * WHERE...Coastal areas of Los Angeles, Ventura, and southern Santa Barbara Counties. * WHEN...Until 8 PM PDT Monday. * IMPACTS...There is a high risk for dangerous heat illness, especially for sensitive groups like the very young, the very old, those without air conditioning, and those active outdoors. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion. &&
