Marine Weather Statement
Issued: 9:35 AM Sep. 16, 2025 – National Weather Service
...DENSE FOG TO AFFECT THE COASTAL WATERS THROUGH THIS MORNING...

...THUNDERSTORMS POSSIBLE OVER THE COASTAL WATERS LATE TONIGHT
THROUGH FRIDAY...

A shallow marine layer in place across the coastal waters will
result in dense fog across much of the coastal waters this
morning.

Then, a moist and unstable air mass associated with the remnants
of Tropical Storm Mario will bring showers and potential
thunderstorms with rapidly changing winds to the coastal waters as
early as late tonight and continuing through Friday. The period
of most concern will likely be Wednesday and Thursday. Any
thunderstorm that forms will be capable of producing locally gale
force winds and rough seas, dangerous lightning, heavy rainfall
with reduced visibility, and waterspouts.

With dense fog, mariners should be prepared for abrupt visibility
changes down to one nautical mile or less. Reduce speeds and be
on the lookout for exposed rocks and other vessels, including
large ships in the shipping lanes. Use radar or GPS navigation if
available, and consider remaining in harbor if such equipment is
unavailable.

With thunderstorms possible, consider adjusting your mid-week
plans now, and continue to monitor the forecast for this evolving
weather scenario.
