...BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM LATE WEDNESDAY
NIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY EVENING...

* WHAT...A long period westerly swell will result in an
increased risk for sneaker waves, rip currents, and breaking
waves of 14 to 19 feet with the highest waves up to 22 feet in
favored locations.

* WHERE...Coastal North Bay and San Francisco Peninsula Coast.

* WHEN...From late Wednesday night through Thursday evening.

* IMPACTS...Sneaker waves can unexpectedly run significantly
farther up the beach than normal, including over rocks and
jetties. Rip currents are typically more frequent and stronger
in the vicinity of jetties, inlets, and piers.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain out of the water to avoid hazardous swimming conditions.

* WHERE...Coastal Waters from Point Reyes to Pigeon Point
California out to 10 NM.

* WHEN...For the Gale Warning, until 9 PM PST this evening. For
the Storm Warning, from 9 PM this evening to 3 AM PST
Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Storm force winds and hazardous seas will capsize or
damage vessels and reduce visibility.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners should remain in port, alter course, and/or secure the
vessel for severe conditions.

* WHAT...Southerly winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 45 mph
expected.

* WHERE...The East Bay and San Francisco Bay Shoreline, North Bay
Interior Mountains and Valleys, The Santa Cruz Mountains, San
Francisco, and San Francisco Peninsula Coast.

* WHEN...Until 4 PM PST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree
limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Isolated gusts to 55 mph possible along North
Bay coastal areas and ridgetops Wednesday morning as the cold
front passes through. Wind gusts may exceed 60 mph in the regions
higher peaks.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain in the lower levels of your home during the strongest winds,
and avoid windows. Watch for falling debris and tree limbs. Use
caution if you must drive.

Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.

Secure loose outdoor objects that could be blown around or damaged
by the wind.
