...WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING TO 8 AM PST FRIDAY... * WHAT...South winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph expected. * WHERE...Northern Humboldt Coast, mainly north of Trinidad. * WHEN...From 10 PM this evening to 8 AM PST Friday. * IMPACTS...Wind gusts will be particularly strong along windward ridges and exposed coastal headlands. There is an increased risk of tree branches and other debris on roadways. Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution. Secure outdoor objects. &&

...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM LATE TONIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...A portion of northwest California, including the following areas, Coastal Del Norte, Del Norte Interior, Northern Humboldt Coast, Northern Humboldt Interior, Southern Humboldt Interior and Southwestern Humboldt. * WHEN...From late tonight through Friday morning. * IMPACTS...There will be an increased risk of rock and land slides along roadways. Minor to moderate roadway and urban flooding possible. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A quick moving cold front will bring moderate to heavy rain to the area tonight into late Friday morning. Rainfall totals of 2-4 inches and rainfall rates up to 0.5 inches or higher an hour are possible. Saturated soils and the heavy rainfall rates will increase the risk of minor flooding impacts to low lying and urban areas.
