...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 845 AM MST THIS MORNING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Northeastern Pima County in southeastern Arizona... * WHEN...Until 845 AM MST Thursday. * IMPACTS...Rises in small streams and normally dry washes. Some low-water crossings may become impassable. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1246 AM MST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Rapid river rises have already caused minor flooding in the advisory area. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.2 inches are expected over the area. Water is rising in the Pantano Wash and other small washes that will flow eventually into the Rillito River. Expect rapid rises with swift water overnight. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Tucson, Tanque Verde, Vail, Catalina Foothills and Rita Ranch. - This includes Interstate 10 near mile marker 251. This includes the following Flash Flood Prone Locations... Harrison Rd at Pantano Wash, Wentworth Rd at Tanque Verde Wash, Tanque Verde Loop Rd at Tanque Verde Wash, Old Spanish Trl at Rincon Creek, Escalante Rd at Atterbury Wash, Alamo Wash between Speedway and Grant and Camino Loma Alta at Rincon Creek. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. ...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM MST EARLY THIS MORNING... ...REPLACES FLASH FLOOD WARNING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...East Central Pima County in southeastern Arizona... * WHEN...Until 600 AM MST. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1208 AM MST, Between 1.5 and 2.7 inches of rain have fallen earlier this evening. Expect elevated flows exiting into the Pantano Wash through the overnight. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Fortynine Wash, Gardner Canyon, Box Canyon Wash, Cienega Creek and Pantano Wash. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Vail and Corona De Tucson. - This includes the following highways... Interstate 10 between mile markers 278 and 288. Route 83 between mile markers 41 and 58. This includes the following Flash Flood Prone Locations...
