...WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM CST SUNDAY... ...EXTREME COLD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO NOON CST SUNDAY... * WHAT...For the Wind Advisory, northwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph. For the Extreme Cold Warning, dangerously cold wind chills are expected Friday and Saturday nights. Wind chills in the single digits to lower teens expected Friday night, with single digits expected areawide on Saturday night. * WHERE...In Alabama, Baldwin Coastal and Mobile Coastal Counties. In Florida, Escambia Coastal, Okaloosa Coastal, and Santa Rosa Coastal Counties. * WHEN...For the Wind Advisory, until 10 AM CST Sunday. For the Extreme Cold Warning, from midnight tonight to noon CST Sunday. * IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures. Temperatures this cold can possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...This will likely be an extended duration cold event where temperatures fail to make it above freezing Saturday, especially over interior counties near and north of the Highway 84 corridor. Temperatures may remain below freezing for up to 36 hours. Wind chills during the day Saturday may stay in the upper teens to lower 20s areawide. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution. Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must go outside.
