...HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM AKDT MONDAY... * WHAT...Very warm afternoon temperatures in the middle to upper 70s, with overnight temperatures in the low to mid 50s. * WHERE...Lower Matanuska Valley. * WHEN...Until 8 PM AKDT Monday. * IMPACTS...Individuals not accustomed to these unusually warm temperatures for this region may experience heat related illnesses. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids and check up on elderly and vulnerable relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when working in the sun. Wear sunscreen and lightweight, loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion. Close curtains during the daytime to reduce sun insolation into the home and open windows at night to allow the home to cool off. Utilize fans or community buildings with air conditioning. &&
