* WHAT...Dangerously cold windchill temperatures as low as 0
degrees for City and Borough of Sitka, Ketchikan Gateway Borough
and Annette Island. Dangerously cold windchill temperatures as
low as 5 below for Hyder.

* WHERE...City and Borough of Sitka, Prince of Wales Island,
Ketchikan Gateway Borough, City of Hyder and Annette Island.

* WHEN...Until noon AKST Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Frostbite and hypothermia are likely if exposed to
these temperatures. An extended period of freezing
temperatures could cause ruptured water pipes.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The coldest windchill temperatures will be
farther inland away from maritime influence.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Wear protective clothing such as a hat, facemask and heavy gloves
or mittens if you have plans to be outdoors. To prevent freezing
and possible bursting of water pipes they should be wrapped,
drained, or allowed to drip slowly.
