Marine Weather Statement
Issued: 9:20 PM Dec. 20, 2025 – National Weather Service
...HEAVY FREEZING SPRAY CONTINUES... Cold arctic air continues to dominate the Panhandle, forming gale force to strong gale force outflow conditions along and north of the Icy Strait Corridor (Cross Sound to Taku Inlet) and forming across Stephens Passage Saturday. Heavy freezing spray will likely continue through the weekend for Glacier Bay, Lynn Canal, and Taku Inlet. This threat is likely in areas near Pt Couverden and Scull Island as well. In addition, light to moderate freezing spray may be encountered as far south as Southern Chatham and Sumner Strait, through the weekend. Mariners should use extreme caution if attempting to navigate the central and northern inner channels over the next several days.
