...WINTRY MIX OF PRECIPITATION LATE WEDNESDAY EVENING THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING FROM NORTH OF PRIMROSE TO TURNAGAIN PASS... A storm system will move over the Kenai Peninsula late this evening through Thursday bringing in warm air aloft as surface temperatures remain at or below freezing. Precipitation from north of Primrose to Turnagain Arm is expected to begin as all snow, with one to three inches of snow possible. Any snow tonight is then likely to change to a wintry mix overnight before changing to all rain early Thursday morning as east winds increase and temperatures climb into the mid to upper 30s. However, with ground temperatures around freezing, any rain could still freeze on contact with road surfaces. Rain and snowmelt may also cause ponding on roadways. Rain on snow covered or frozen surfaces may create hazardous travel conditions. Slow down and use caution while traveling. For the latest road conditions call 5 1 1 or visit 511.alaska.gov.
