...WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY EVENING THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING... * WHAT...Heavy snow possible. For Fairbanks North Star Borough and Central Interior, total snow accumulations between 6 and 10 inches possible. For the Western Alaska Range, total snow accumulations of 7 to 14 inches possible. Above 2,000 feet, wind gusts up to 35 mph possible. Visibility as low as one half mile at times due to falling and blowing snow possible. * WHERE...Fairbanks North Star Borough, Central Interior, Western Alaska Range. * WHEN...From Tuesday evening through Thursday morning. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Slow down and use caution while traveling. Resuspended snow from vehicular traffic could cause significantly reduced visibilities on area roadways. Additional Details: Snow is expected to develop from west to east across the region by Tuesday night or very early Wednesday morning. There is increasing confidence that the heaviest snowfall will likely occur between 6am and 6pm Wednesday before slowly tapering off Thursday morning. The highest snowfall amounts will likely be along the western facing slopes of the Alaska Range. Winds will be between 5 and 15 mph for valley locations with winds up to 35 mph at higher elevation.
