CST TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Dangerously cold temperatures as low as 0 degrees expected.

* WHERE...Portions of south central and southwest Arkansas, north
central and northwest Louisiana, southeast Oklahoma, and east and
northeast Texas.

* WHEN...From 6 PM Sunday to noon CST Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin
is exposed to these temperatures.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must
go outside.

Issued: 7:22 AM Jan. 24, 2026 – National Weather Service
...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM CST SUNDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy mixed precipitation expected. Total snow and sleet
accumulations between 2 and 4 inches are expected north of
Interstate 30, with snow and ice accumulations between one half
and two inches between Interstate 20 and Interstate 30.

* WHERE...Portions of southwest Arkansas, southeast Oklahoma, and
northeast Texas.

* WHEN...Until 6 PM CST Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
likely become slick and hazardous. Significant ice accumulation on
power lines and tree limbs may cause widespread and long-lasting
power outages. Power outages and tree damage are likely due to the
ice. Travel could be nearly impossible.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency. The latest road conditions for
the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.

Persons should consider delaying all travel. If travel is absolutely
necessary, drive with extreme caution. Consider taking a winter
storm kit along with you, including such items as tire chains,
booster cables, flashlight, shovel, blankets and extra clothing.
Also take water, a first aid kit, and anything else that would help
you survive in case you become stranded.
