Small Craft Advisory
Issued: 8:41 PM Apr. 5, 2026 – National Weather Service
Fixed a couple of typos in the ADDITIONAL DETAILS section.

...SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM CHST TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Northeast winds 15 to 25 kt with gusts up to 30 kt and
seas 7 to 10 feet.

* WHERE...Marianas Coastal Waters.

* WHEN...Until 5 PM ChST Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Conditions will be hazardous to small craft.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The effects of a trade-wind surge currently
affecting the Marianas, and a weak northerly swell entering the
region today, will continue to keep hazardous conditions for small
craft through Tuesday. Seas and winds are expected to subside
slightly Wednesday, but could rebuild late in the week if a
developing circulation in eastern Micronesia comes close to the
Marianas.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller
vessels, should avoid boating in hazardous conditions.

Rip Current Statement
Issued: 6:14 PM Apr. 5, 2026 – National Weather Service
...HIGH RISK OF RIP CURRENTS THROUGH TUESDAY AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Dangerous rip currents.

* WHERE...East facing reefs of the Marianas.

* WHEN...Through Tuesday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away
from shore into deeper water.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The going trade-wind surge will keep the trade
swell elevated, continuing the high risk of rip currents along east
facing reefs. Surf will also be elevated along north facing reefs
due to swell wrap around.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Rip currents will be life threatening. If caught in a rip
current, relax and float. Don't swim against the current. If
able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to
escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.
