Sheep graziers are warned that cold temperatures, rain and showers and southwesterly winds are expected during Tuesday. Areas likely to be affected include the Mid North Coast and Illawarra forecast districts and parts of the Hunter, Northern Tablelands, South Coast, Central Tablelands, Southern Tablelands, Snowy Mountains and Australian Capital Territory forecast districts. There is a risk of losses of lambs and sheep exposed to these conditions.

For coastal parts of the HUNTER and MID NORTH COAST, including NEWCASTLE: DAMAGING SOUTH TO SOUTHWESTERLY WINDS averaging 60 to 70 km/h with peak gusts of around 110 km/h are possible from dawn on Tuesday, becoming likely from the afternoon onwards. Locally DESTRUCTIVE WIND GUSTS with peak gusts of around 125 km/h are also possible from midday Tuesday for exposed coastal areas between Newcastle and Forster.
For the SOUTHERN AND CENTRAL COASTAL FRINGE, including SYDNEY and WOLLONGONG: DAMAGING SOUTH TO SOUTHWESTERLY WINDS averaging 60 to 70 km/h with peak gusts of around 110 km/h are likely to develop from Tuesday afternoon, extending to Ulladulla by the evening.
For the NORTHERN GREAT DIVIDING RANGE: Strong to DAMAGING WEST TO SOUTHWESTERLY WINDS averaging 55 to 65 km/h with peak gusts of around 90 km/h are likely to develop during Tuesday evening.
Subject to the position and strength of the Coastal Low, DAMAGING WINDS are likely to persist into Wednesday and potentially Thursday for parts of NSW.
